Bluesky for business and brands

Consistency, replies and proof. A small business on Bluesky needs to post every week, answer every customer, and show someone the figures at the end of the month.

Updated 30 September 2026

Why businesses are on Bluesky

Because customers are, and because a chronological feed means a small account is seen by its followers every time it posts, without paying for the privilege. Bluesky sells no advertising; reach comes from posting well and replying.

Setting up

What to post

What is new, what is behind the counter, what a customer asked and the answer. Images with alt text; a thread for the longer story; the link, tracked, so you know which post sent people to the shop. A campaign groups posts around a launch and reports on it as one thing.

When to post

When your customers are online, measured from your own posts. The Planner learns your best hours and keeps one posting time a day filled (Duo) or every free time (Studio), so a busy week still posts.

Hashtags

One or two that name the product or the place. Updrift's hashtag table shows which of yours bring engagement above your usual.

Answering every customer

The Inbox holds replies, mentions, quotes and direct messages, oldest unanswered first. On Studio a colleague can draft and you approve, or you can draft and they approve, and every reply is logged.

Proving it

Growth shows followers and which posts moved them; Reach shows engagement received and who spread each post; campaigns report clicks per post; the morning recap and the weekly letter say how it is going without anyone opening a dashboard.
