How to promote your OnlyFans on Bluesky

Bluesky lets creators post 18+ content as long as the posts carry a label. Most of what goes wrong here is not the content. It is a missing label at 1am, a link nobody can find, or posting while the people who would subscribe are asleep. The same goes for JustForFans, Fansly, Fanvue or your own site.

Why Bluesky works for creators who sell

Bluesky allows 18+ content that is labelled, and each person chooses for themselves whether to see it. Feeds are made by people rather than one company's algorithm, so a labelled post can reach the people who chose to look for it. Links to a subscription page in your bio and posts are fine. What gets an account into trouble is not the link; it is 18+ media that goes out without its label.

Label every post, every time

A missing label is the commonest way to earn one you did not choose: someone reports the post, and a moderation service labels it, or labels the account. The fix is a default rather than willpower. In Updrift's Planner, "Label posts with images" is a setting per account: once it is on, every post from that account with an image or a video goes out with the label you chose, and the composer shows it before you schedule. How labels work, and who sees what.

Since Bluesky's age checks in the UK, people who have not verified their age cannot switch labelled content on, so a labelled post reaches a smaller UK audience than it did. Compare your figures by country rather than leaving the label off.

Two accounts: an everyday one and an 18+ one

Many creators keep a public account for previews, conversation and personality, and a labelled account for the rest. The everyday account is where new people find you; the labelled one is where they go once they have chosen to. Keep previews on the everyday account free of anything that would need a label, and point people across with a link, not a stream of replies. On plans with more than one account, Updrift can repost or quote between your own accounts by rules you set, and never anyone else's.

One link, counted

A Bluesky bio takes one link. A link page holds the rest (your OnlyFans, a JustForFans or Fansly page, a tip jar, a wishlist) and counts the clicks on each, so you know which one people actually want. Mark the page sensitive and it shows a notice before the links and stays out of search; your picture stays off the page's preview card unless you choose otherwise. The link page is free on every plan. Tracked links inside your posts, counted per post, come with the paid plans, so you can see which post sent people to your page rather than guessing. Post when your followers are around

General "best time to post" charts are measured on someone else's audience. Updrift's best hours read your own followers, hour by hour, on your own clock, free for one account. On Duo and Studio the Planner posts at those hours, so the 2am post can be written at 2pm. More on timing.

What gets accounts in trouble

None of these grows an account for long, and the first two are the quickest way to a label you did not choose.

Reading what works

A label changes who can see a post, so compare labelled posts with your own usual, not with other people's numbers. Updrift's What works report groups your posts by format, hour and label and shows which beat your usual. The Free plan shows the top line; the paid plans show the whole report. Then look at the clicks on your link page: the post that sent people to your page is the one to write again, whatever its likes.

Questions

Is OnlyFans allowed on Bluesky?

Linking to it is: in your bio, on a link page and in posts. What Bluesky acts on is 18+ media without a label, which can get the post or the whole account labelled for you.

Can I schedule labelled posts?

Yes. Updrift's Planner carries the label you set for the account and shows it on the post before you schedule it. The Planner comes with Duo and Studio.

Is any of this free?
